Once in a Blue Moon
13"Hx15"Wx3"D
Soft hazy pastels recreate the rising blue moon, reflecting the rarity of events. Blue Moon is made of a piece of desert fossil wood with fascinating burls, using harvested fibers from inside the prickly pear cactus, all found in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. It is mounted on a piece of Arizona petrified wood from the Triassic period, over 250,000 million years ago. Hand-Painted with transparent acrylic colors and given an archival, museum finish to ensure years of luminous color.
